Cyberpunk update players can download the free Edgerunners 2 Update, which adds a new quest, dual wielding, and new cyberware customization options. The new content gives V more ways to fight and dress their gear without paying extra.
Weak Kingsley in Night City Prison
The quest begins as a gig from Wakako and sends players into Night City Prison, where Weak Kingsley appears as a famed Night City merc and one of the main characters of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Players can equip his full outfit and pick up Coronation, his signature revolver, so the tie-in is not just story flavor.
The update also adds HKGN 102.FM, a new radio station built around official tracks from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Edgerunners 2. That keeps the anime connection inside the game world instead of leaving it on a menu screen.
Dual wielding with Update 2.0
Dual wielding lets players use a pistol or revolver in each hand, which turns sidearms into a two-weapon setup instead of a single-shot backup. That is a narrower change than Update 2.0, but it still changes how V can handle close fights because the new option sits on top of the game’s earlier combat systems rather than replacing them.
Glamdocs across five locations
The update also adds glamdocs, which let players customize the appearance of cyberware in 40 styles in different colors. The vendor system is spread across five locations in Night City, so players have to reach the places where the customization is sold instead of unlocking it from a single menu.
The awkward part is timing. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premiered on October 20, yet the new gig is described as a prequel to its events, which means the game is filling in the lead-up rather than extending the anime’s timeline. Players who want the crossover content now can start with Wakako’s gig, but the update does not spell out any further release beyond this free drop.
