Egor Demin will not return to Tuesday’s game against Boston after suffering a right leg contusion, leaving the Nets to finish the night without him and likely look ahead to Friday versus Detroit.
The injury came with 2:22 remaining in the first half, when Demin was seen holding his leg and limped to the locker room. He was ruled out for the rest of the game shortly after, bringing his night to an early end.
Demin’s night ends early
Before leaving, Demin finished with 2 points on 1-3 FG, including 0-2 from 3Pt, while adding 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 steal in 10 minutes. It was a short stint, but one that still offered a small sample of his ability to contribute on both ends.
For the Nets, the immediate question is how they reshape the rotation if he remains unavailable. Keon Ellis or Mikel Brown could replace Egor Demin in the starting lineup, depending on how the staff chooses to manage the backcourt and keep the group balanced.
What comes next for the Nets?
The good news for Brooklyn is that it does not play again until Friday against Detroit, giving the team a little time to assess Demin’s status. C.J. Holmes reported that Demin won’t return to Tuesday’s game against Boston because of the right leg contusion, and that is now the key detail as the Nets turn their attention to the next matchup.
For now, the focus is less on the numbers and more on availability. If Demin cannot go on Friday, the Nets will need to decide whether to keep the same starting shape or make a change and lean on Keon Ellis and Mikel Brown for more responsibility.
