Garena launched Monster Hunter Outlanders today across iOS and Android in Southeast Asia, opening the free-to-play survival hunting action RPG to mobile players in the region. The rollout arrives with more than 15 million global pre-registrations already behind it, a sign that the game has reached launch with real scale instead of a soft opening.
That registration total includes the separate mainland China version, so the headline number reflects demand across more than one release track. Capcom licensed and supervised the game, while TiMi Studio Group developed it for Aesoland and mobile play.
Eight weapons at launch
The launch roster starts with eight weapons: Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Heavy Bowgun, Bow and the Charge Blade. The Charge Blade arrived before release and pushed the initial lineup to that eight-weapon mark, which matters because the game uses original Adventurers paired with specific weapon types rather than a single universal loadout system.
TiMi has already said additional weapon types are planned for future updates, so launch day is not the end state for the combat roster. That gives early players a fixed starting pool now, with the combat meta set to widen later rather than all at once.
Pyro and first-month rewards
Pyro is one of the SSR Adventurers players can earn through the game's first-month launch events. Garena is using those events to pull players into the economy early, turning the opening month into more than a download spike and giving new users a reason to log in before the campaign window closes.
The launch also comes with controller support, but only for selected features such as hunting, quests and field exploration. That partial setup leaves the rest of the game on touch controls for now, so the day-one experience is broad, but not fully standardized across every action.
Aesoland on day one
Monster Hunter Outlanders is now live for Southeast Asia players on iOS and Android, and the practical takeaway is simple: the game has moved from pre-registration momentum to an active service with launch rewards, an eight-weapon starting roster and planned expansion ahead. For players deciding whether to jump in now, the launch is already carrying the first month’s incentive structure, while the control scheme still shows where the mobile adaptation is unfinished.
