The Pokémon Company says Pokémon Legends: Z-A will hold a Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon distribution if players collectively reach 600,000 points from evolution awards. Players who evolve Spewpa are being sent toward a random Vivillon pattern, and the total is already a third of the way there after less than 24 hours.
That puts the Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon distribution within reach of the player base, but the game has not set a date for when the reward will be handed out. The form had last been temporarily available in May 2016, and this return gives collectors another chance at one of Vivillon’s 20 forms without relying on a location-specific event.
The Pokémon Company event goal
The company said the event asks players to evolve as many Spewpa as possible. Every evolution award pushes the total toward 600,000 points, the threshold that unlocks the Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon for everyone.
Vivillon is the third-stage evolution of Scatterbug, and the species has 20 forms in total. The Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon stands out because its wings are red, white, and gray, making it one of the more recognizable variants for players trying to complete a Form or Regional Living Pokédex.
May 2016 availability
The last temporary release came in May 2016, when the pattern was available only to players physically present in a specific Japanese Pokémon Center store. That limited run left the form unavailable for over a decade to anyone who missed it.
The new event removes that location limit, but only after the community reaches the 600,000-point mark. Until then, the reward remains tied to collective progress rather than an individual exchange, and the game’s pace now matters as much as the prize itself.
Vivillon form collectors
For collectors, the appeal is practical: the Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon is being made available again, but the distribution date is still undetermined. Players can still contribute by evolving Spewpa, and the reward pool will keep moving toward the target as long as the event stays active.
The return also matters because Vivillon patterns are tied to trainers’ real-world locations, which usually makes some forms difficult to obtain. The Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon is a notable exception, and this event gives players a route to it through play rather than travel.
