The Washington Capitals officially unveiled their new Hometown Remix jerseys on Monday morning, joining an NHL-wide special-edition rollout that spans all 32 franchises. The jerseys and accompanying merchandise went on sale at 10:00am through the NHL shop.
What changed in the design
The Capitals' Hometown Remix look brings back the franchise's blue color scheme from the late 1990s and restores the Capitol Dome logo to the front of the sweater for the first time since 2007. It is a clear nod to the team's past while giving fans a new alternate jersey to follow heading into the 2026-27 season.
More than just a jersey release
The Hometown Remix program was first announced in August and is being rolled out across the league as a special-edition uniform initiative. For Washington, the reveal also comes with related merchandise and several planned promotions tied to the 2026-27 season.
One of those upcoming events is a rally towel giveaway scheduled for November 7 against the Florida Panthers. That gives the Capitals an added way to build around the new uniform launch, even before the broader seasonal promotions begin.
For fans, the immediate takeaway is simple: the Capitals have a new alternate look, and it is available now. For the NHL, it is another step in a league-wide effort to create a more distinct hometown identity for every team.
