Tim Hardaway Jr. was available for the Miami Heat's game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, giving Miami an important rotation option as its five-game Western road trip continued. Hardaway had been listed as questionable, but the NBA's 4:15 p.m. EST injury report confirmed he would be in the lineup.
The timing mattered for a Heat team that had already seen him contribute 14 points and two blocks in Wednesday's 129-117 win over the Atlanta Hawks, then beat the Indiana Pacers 145-125 on Friday. With Miami facing the Lakers on Monday, Nov. 2 at 10 p.m. Eastern, or 7 p.m. Pacific, Hardaway's presence helped avoid another adjustment for Erik Spoelstra's side.
Why Hardaway's status mattered
Hardaway had missed practice on Sunday after briefly leaving the team for personal reasons, but the expectation was that he would return in time for Monday's game. By Monday, he had joined the team in Los Angeles, and that cleared the way for him to be available against the Lakers.
For Miami, that meant one less concern at the start of a road swing that can test depth quickly. The Heat were already managing absences elsewhere, with Tre Donaldson and Vladislav Goldin listed out for G League commitments, so having Hardaway back gave them another perimeter option without forcing a reshuffle.
A timely boost for Miami
Hardaway's availability does not change the bigger shape of the Western trip, but it does give Miami a more stable starting point. That is often the difference on the road: one available scorer can keep the rotation cleaner and the game plan more consistent.
It also underlined how quickly a questionable tag can shift before tip-off. Miami had reason to be cautious, but by the time the Lakers game arrived, Hardaway was cleared to play and the Heat could move ahead without a late setback.
