Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz proposed a political reset for all parties in Poland as the Trybunał Konstytucyjny dispute put pressure on Donald Tusk. The issue surfaced during the Krakow shooting discussion on Kalejdoskop Wydarzeń on Polsat News, where Dorota Gawryluk said the wall of broad support for the prime minister was crumbling.
Gawryluk said Kosiniak-Kamysz had learned about the events from the media, then put forward a reset proposal that she said matched what most of society expects. She also said the planned appointments of Andrzej Domański and Agnieszka Bartol did not take place this week and would come later, not immediately.
Gawryluk on Tusk’s support
During the program, Gawryluk said, "Ten mur szerokiego poparcia dla Donalda Tuska się kruszy". She added, "Rzeczywiście może być tak, że coś, jeśli chodzi o ten mur szerokiego poparcia dla premiera, się kruszy". Her point was tied to two pressures at once: polling support and the prime minister’s relationship with Karol Nawrocki.
She also said the changes in the Trybunał Konstytucyjny drew strong criticism from various circles, including legal circles. In her words, "Nie da się po prostu żerować na takiej sytuacji, to uwłacza zawodowi prawnika, to uwłacza w ogóle wszystkim, którzy znają arytmetykę".
PSL reset proposal
Kosiniak-Kamysz, described in the discussion as vice-premier and PSL leader, proposed a reset to all political parties in Poland. Gawryluk framed it as a move by someone who had stood with the prime minister through good and bad times, then turned to the wider political class with a new offer.
Jan Wróbel responded that the PSL proposal carried a strategic calculation. "Z tą propozycją PSL-u jest taka chytrość (...)" he said, adding, "Przedstawiam projekt, który nie ma żadnych szans, bo nie podejmie go prezydent Nawrocki. Czyli wash and go, był piękny projekt, ale Donaldzie nie jesteś winien temu, że on przepadł, to ten niedobry Karol".
Domański i Bartol
The planned appointments of Andrzej Domański as deputy prime minister and Agnieszka Bartol as minister of funds and regional policy did not happen this week. Gawryluk said the nominations would eventually happen, but not right away, which leaves the personnel changes tied to the wider dispute around the government’s internal balance.
Wróbel said the reset idea would not stop at one office. "Jeśli będzie jakiś reset, to na pewno będzie też reset ministra sprawiedliwości" he said, pointing to Waldemar Żurek as part of the same political pressure. The practical question now is whether the PSL proposal becomes a broader coalition adjustment or stays a short-lived opening that Karol Nawrocki can block before it reaches the point of change.
