Canadian law enforcement officials have arrested eight men in connection with a large-scale mail theft operation. The suspects, all of Punjabi descent, are believed to have stolen over $400,000 worth of items from residents’ mailboxes in Mississauga and Brampton.

Details of the Mail Theft Operation

The joint investigation, dubbed ‘Operation Undeliverable,’ was launched by the Peel Regional Police and Canada Post. This was prompted by numerous reports of mail theft in the Halton and Peel regions.

  • Upinderjit Singh, 28, no fixed address

These eight individuals now face a total of 344 charges related to the thefts. Authorities indicated that at least some of the suspects may be foreign nationals, while others hold Canadian citizenship.

Investigation Progress

On September 8 and 9, police executed search warrants at multiple residences across Mississauga. Key areas included Rhinebank Street, Brandon Gate Drive, Dwiggin Avenue, and Kittridge Drive.

During these searches, authorities recovered more than 450 stolen pieces of mail, which included:

  • 255 cheques
  • 182 credit cards
  • 35 government IDs
  • 20 gift cards

Next Steps for Authorities

Peel Regional Police are collaborating with the Crown Attorney’s Office and the Canada Border Services Agency. They are assessing whether any suspects should be deported due to their immigration status.
