Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Woman Forced into Car in Wichita

Authorities in Wichita, Kansas, are seeking assistance in identifying a woman forcibly taken by a man early Sunday morning. This incident was captured on home surveillance footage and reported by a homeowner in a residential neighborhood.
Incident Overview
The incident occurred around 2 a.m., according to the Wichita Police Department. A man was seen in the video seizing a woman and leading her away. The homeowner’s Ring doorbell camera footage played a crucial role in bringing this matter to light.
Community Involvement and Rewards
The Wichita Police Chief, Joe Sullivan, emphasized the urgency of the situation at a press conference on Monday. “Our main concern is the safety and welfare of the woman seen in that video,” he stated. To encourage public participation, Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to identifying either individual involved in the incident.
Investigation Efforts
Investigators have taken several steps in the ongoing probe. They have:
- Canvassed the neighborhood on two occasions.
- Reviewed license plate reader data.
- Checked missing persons reports filed since October 1.
Wichita Police Captain Todd Ojile reported that, to date, the department has received nine tips. However, none of these leads have been fruitful in identifying the individuals caught on camera. Luckily, there is currently no indication that the general public is in danger.
