TV Host Exits Strictly Come Dancing as Second Star Departure

Ross King, a Scottish television presenter, faced elimination from “Strictly Come Dancing” on October 12, becoming the second contestant to leave the popular competition this season. King, known for his appearances on “Lorraine” and “Good Morning Britain,” and his professional partner, Jowita Przystal, competed in a challenging dance-off against Balvinder Sopal from “EastEnders” and his partner Julian Caillon.

Elimination Details

The results show saw both couples perform their Movie Week routines again. King and Przystal showcased a stunning Paso Doble set to the iconic theme of “Thunderbirds,” while Sopal and Caillon danced a foxtrot to “The Way You Look Tonight” from the classic film “Swing Time.”

Judges’ Decisions

  • Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke voted to save Sopal and Caillon.
  • Head judge Shirley Ballas supported their decision.

King, reflecting on his experience, expressed heartfelt gratitude towards those who supported him. He stated, “I have loved every single minute of it,” thanking the audience for their votes and complimenting Przystal for her exceptional mentorship.

Performance Scores

King’s elimination came after he received the lowest score during Saturday’s live show, earning only 19 points. Despite this, Du Beke lauded him as “the most improved” contestant of the week. Ballas acknowledged King’s commitment, commenting, “You gave 1,000 percent of yourself…you can go home proud of what you’ve achieved.”

Upcoming Events

The Sunday episode also featured an artistic group routine from the Strictly professionals along with a performance by Chinese pianist Lang Lang, who played “Reflection” from Disney’s “Mulan.” As previously announced, Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis did not participate due to illness but is expected to return next week.

With Ross King’s departure, the competition continues as the remaining contestants prepare to perform on October 18 at 6.30 PM, available on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
