Piyush Pandey’s Contribution to Indian Advertising

Born in Jaipur, Pandey’s journey in advertising began early. Alongside his brother Prasoon Pandey, he provided his voice for radio jingles. This initial experience set the stage for an illustrious career.

In 1982, he joined Ogilvy & Mather India, now known as Ogilvy India. Starting as a trainee account executive, he pivoted to the creative realm, where his true talent flourished.

Iconic Campaigns

Pandey is celebrated for creating several landmark campaigns that shaped Indian advertising. His most notable works include:

  • Asian Paints: “Har khushi mein rang laaye”
  • Cadbury: “Kuch Khaas Hai”
  • Fevicol: “Egg” film

A Trailblazer in the Industry

In 2004, Pandey made history as the first Asian jury president at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. His innovative approach earned him prestigious awards, including the CLIO Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.

Moreover, he was honored with the Padma Shri, becoming the first Indian advertising professional to receive this award.
