Netflix Announces ‘Victorious’ Spinoff with Daniella Monet’s Return

Netflix has officially announced a new spinoff of the hit series “Victorious,” titled “Hollywood Arts.” The show will see Daniella Monet reprising her role as Trina Vega. Netflix has ordered 26 episodes of the series, which will premiere in 2026. Following its debut, the series will also be available on Nickelodeon and Paramount+.

Production Details and Cast

Filming for “Hollywood Arts” is set to begin shortly in Vancouver. This spinoff follows earlier reports earlier this year that the project was initially in development solely at Nickelodeon. Along with Monet, the new series will feature several newcomers, including:

  • Alyssa Miles (“Hanging out with Alyssa and Xavier”)
  • Emmy Liu-Wang (“Raven’s Home,” “Slumber Party”)
  • Peyton Jackson (“Woman in the Yard,” “Young Dylan”)
  • Erika Swayze (“School Spirits,” “Workin’ Moms”)
  • Martin Kamm (“Unsung Hero,” “Web of Spiderman”)

Additionally, Yvette Nicole Brown is confirmed to guest star in the series. The show will be written and executive produced by Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin, while Jonathan Judge will direct and also serve as an executive producer.

Logline and Concept

The official logline for the show describes Trina Vega as a struggling actress who returns as an unqualified substitute teacher at Hollywood Arts. The character faces challenges as she both clashes with and inspires a talented new generation of students at the school renowned for its elite performing arts program.

“Victorious” Legacy

Originally airing from 2010 to 2013, “Victorious” featured a cast that included popular names such as Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice. Since the beginning of 2024, the original series has accumulated an impressive 45 million views on Netflix alone. Monet, reflecting on her return, stated, “Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do.”

This spinoff represents the second extension of the “Victorious” franchise, following “Sam & Cat,” which aired for one season. Notably, Dan Schneider, the original creator of “Victorious,” will not be involved with “Hollywood Arts.” His departure from Nickelodeon was marked by various allegations of misconduct dating back to 2018.

What’s Next?

As production gears up, fans are eagerly anticipating what “Hollywood Arts” will bring to the beloved universe of “Victorious.” With a mix of nostalgia and fresh talent, the new series aims to capture the hearts of both old fans and new viewers alike.
