Authorities have apprehended suspects linked to a high-profile jewel heist at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed the arrests following a bold robbery last week that targeted the museum’s Apollo Gallery.

During this audacious daytime robbery, thieves secretively fled with valuable jewelry believed to be worth around 88 million euros (approximately $102 million). The operation took just seven minutes, highlighting the museum’s security vulnerabilities.
Method of Entry
The perpetrators used a truck-mounted ladder to gain access to the ornate gallery. Once inside, they broke into two high-security display cases, stealing nine precious items, including a tiara and necklace previously worn by Queen Marie-Amélie and Queen Hortense.

French authorities tracked down two suspects, both men in their thirties and known to law enforcement, through DNA evidence. One suspect was arrested at Roissy airport—also known as Charles de Gaulle airport—while attempting to leave France for Algeria.
