Martinelli and Saliba to Miss Arsenal’s Carabao Cup Tie with Brighton
Arsenal’s upcoming Carabao Cup fourth round match against Brighton & Hove Albion will see key players absent due to injuries. Gabirel Martinelli and William Saliba have been confirmed to miss the match, as announced by head coach Mikel Arteta.
Injury Updates Before the Match
Arteta stated, “Saliba is out. We are assessing him, but he won’t be involved in this match.” This news comes after Saliba was substituted due to an injury during Arsenal’s recent victory over Crystal Palace.
As for Martinelli, Arteta noted that he is also expected to sit out. The forward experienced discomfort after leaving the pitch limping against Crystal Palace. Further tests are pending to evaluate the severity of his muscle injury.
Available Players for the Match
Despite the absence of Martinelli and Saliba, Arsenal will have some key players available. Declan Rice and Riccardo Calafiori are both set to feature in the match:
- Declan Rice
- Riccardo Calafiori
- Bukayo Saka
Arteta confirmed, “Saka will be fine,” after the England winger missed training prior to the Palace match due to illness. Saka had previously been substituted for Martinelli during the game.
Other Injury Concerns
In addition to the absent stars, Arsenal faces other injury issues. Martin Odegaard is dealing with a medial collateral ligament injury in his left knee and is expected to be out until after the November international break. Noni Madueke and Kai Havertz are also on the unavailable list.
The clash against Brighton is set to take place at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal will look to advance in the Carabao Cup despite these setbacks.
