EJAE, Kali Uchis, Kehlani Honored as 2025 ASCAP Women in Music
El-Balad has announced the 17th annual Women Behind The Music event, set to take place on November 12 in Los Angeles. This year’s ceremony will honor three pioneering artists: Kehlani, Kali Uchis, and EJAE from the popular animated project “KPop Demon Hunters.”
Honorees of 2025 ASCAP Women in Music
The ASCAP Membership team recognizes these artists for their significant contributions to the music industry. Their achievements place them among a prestigious group that includes various songwriters, musicians, and industry leaders.

About the Honorees
Kehlani
Kehlani has earned five Grammy nominations and over 20 gold and platinum RIAA certifications. With more than five billion streams, she is a significant figure in the music scene. Her album “Crash” received accolades for its innovative sound, and the single “After Hours” was nominated for the Grammy for best R&B performance.
Kali Uchis
Kali Uchis is recognized for her critically acclaimed works, including the 2023 record “Red Moon in Venus” and her 2024 album “Orquídeas.” The latter debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and secured nominations for best Latin pop album and best pop vocal album at the Grammy and Latin Grammy awards.
EJAE
EJAE, who voices Rumi in “KPop Demon Hunters,” played a pivotal role in the project. Her work includes the hit single “Golden,” which broke records by reaching the top of various charts and accumulating over 700 million streams on Spotify.
