In his statement, Higson noted, “Points in the week following Paris will only count towards the Race for the following year. The Race for qualification will finish in Paris.” He cited various reasons for advancing the cut-off date, emphasizing the need for a “cleaner” finish line for both fans and players.

The issue of withdrawals has been prevalent this year. Daniil Medvedev, for example, withdrew from the Moselle Open in Metz after losing in the Paris Masters quarter-finals. He cited an injury sustained during his match against Alexander Zverev. The tournament announced his injury diagnosis on their official platform.

Currently, ATP 250 events in Metz and Athens are witnessing intensified competition as players strive for the final spots in the ATP Finals. Notably, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti are vying for the eighth position.
