Meteorologist Highlights Seasonal Shift Amid Chilly Weather in Northern Taiwan

Chilly weather has marked a seasonal shift in northern Taiwan, according to meteorologist Lin De-En. The instability in the atmosphere will likely lead to increased rainfall across various regions.

Weather Forecast for Northern Taiwan

Today, the northern coastal areas, especially in Keelung, and parts of northeastern Taiwan may experience significant rain. The central and southern mountain regions might also see sporadic showers, while other areas will remain mostly cloudy.

Conditions Influencing the Weather

  • Influence of Northeast Monsoon
  • Moisture from the South China Sea
  • Increased Atmospheric Instability

Lin De-En highlighted that the rainy conditions are a result of the northeast monsoon and the movement of the South China Sea rain band. This has heightened the moisture level in the atmosphere, resulting in unstable weather conditions and a higher likelihood of precipitation.

Temperature Expectations

The temperature in northern, northeastern, and eastern Taiwan will range from 18°C to 23°C throughout the day. Other regions will experience cooler morning and evening temperatures, particularly in central and southeastern areas where lows will range from 21°C to 23°C.

Lin emphasized that the changes in temperature and weather patterns signify a clear seasonal transition. Residents should prepare for both cool conditions and potential rain as the atmosphere continues to stabilize in upcoming days.
