Totnes Hosts Inaugural Indie Book Festival with Authors and Subbuteo

A new literary event, the South Devon Book Festival, is launching in Totnes. This festival brings together authors, readers, and Subbuteo enthusiasts for a unique celebration of literature.

Event Details

The festival will take place on Saturday, November 22, at the Totnes Civic Hall. Activities will run from 10 AM to 5 PM, offering attendees a full day of free events.

  • Debbie Young – Known for her cosy mysteries set in the Cotswolds
  • Mark Swan – Award-winning book cover designer of Kid Ethic
  • Derek Air – Participating with the Subbuteo Club
  • Paul Roberts, Caroline Cusanelli, Laurence Shelley, and Alison Simpson will also attend.

Community Engagement

Young writers are also included in the festival. A local creative writing competition was held in primary schools, with winners invited to read their works at the event.
