Rapper Young Bleed Passes Away at 51 from Brain Aneurysm

Rapper Young Bleed has passed away at the age of 51 due to complications from a brain aneurysm, as confirmed by his family. His son, Ty’Gee Ramon, shared the news on Instagram, stating that his father “gained his wings” on Saturday.

Health Complications

Young Bleed, whose real name was Glenn Clifton Jr., was hospitalized in late October. The medical emergency followed a brain aneurysm triggered by internal bleeding. Just days before, he had performed at the Cash Money Verzuz No Limit event at ComplexCon.

According to Tameka Long, the mother of Young Bleed’s 10-year-old son, the rapper had a history of high blood pressure and a pre-existing heart condition. He was placed in the ICU on a ventilator after the aneurysm.

Legacy and Contributions

Despite the health challenges, Ty’Gee Ramon noted that his father had not previously faced significant health issues. He confirmed his father regularly took medication for high blood pressure. Young Bleed’s mother described the hospitalization as unexpected and initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical expenses.

Young Bleed played a pivotal role in establishing Baton Rouge’s hip-hop scene in the late 1990s. He gained significant recognition through his collaboration with Master P on the 1997 soundtrack album “I’m Bout It.” His debut album, released in 1998 under Master P’s No Limit label, achieved gold status and reached the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.

His family plans to honor his legacy and continue his impact on the music industry.
