Devices may boot into BitLocker recovery mode following these updates. This often happens after hardware changes or updates to the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). According to a notification reported by BleepingComputer, the problem predominantly affects Intel-based systems that support Connected Standby, now recognized as Modern Standby.

Microsoft highlighted that installations of updates released on or after October 14, 2025, could prompt some devices to encounter startup or restart issues. As a result, affected systems may present users with the BitLocker recovery screen, requiring the entry of a recovery key. Once the key is correctly entered, devices should restart and function normally without further prompts.
