Vikings List Five Injuries on Report Before Facing Ravens
The Minnesota Vikings are preparing for a challenging match against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. However, they face concerns with several players on the injury report.
Vikings Injury Report Ahead of Ravens Game
During Wednesday’s practice, five key players did not participate, primarily due to injuries. Running back Aaron Jones, safety Theo Jackson, and tight end Josh Oliver are among those missing.
- Aaron Jones: Dealing with a mild AC joint sprain affecting his shoulder and toe. He rushed for 98 yards against the Lions but left early in the second half.
- Theo Jackson: In concussion protocol after reporting mild symptoms.
- Josh Oliver: Recovering from a foot injury, which limited his snaps in recent games.
Head coach Kevin O’Connell mentioned that positive news about Jones was received on Monday. The team anticipates that he will gradually increase his practice workload throughout the week.
Defensive Adjustments
Jackson’s absence could lead to Jay Ward stepping in, as he was a key defensive player when Harrison Smith was sidelined previously. Smith skipped practice but did so for rest, while cornerback Jeff Okudah continued to navigate the concussion protocol after missing the Lions game.
Limited Participants
Four other players were noted as limited participants in practice:
- Will Fries (calf)
- C.J. Ham (hand)
- Josh Metellus (foot)
- Jalen Redmond (shin)
On a positive note, left tackle Christian Darrisaw, who had knee issues last season, participated fully. He displayed strong performance against the Lions by allowing only one pressure on 34 pass-blocking snaps.
Ravens Have Full Roster Availability
Contrasting the Vikings’ situation, the Baltimore Ravens reported full participation in practice, indicating no injuries among their 53 players. Such a clean bill of health is rare, especially in Week 10 of the NFL season.
The Ravens defeated the Dolphins 28-6 last Thursday, benefiting from a mini-bye before this matchup. Interestingly, their last visit to U.S. Bank Stadium was in 2017 when Minnesota triumphed 24-16.
As kickoff approaches, the Vikings will aim to bolster their lineup and strategize effectively to counter the fully fit Ravens.
