A tragic incident occurred on November 6, 2025, in Mumbai, resulting in two fatalities and three injuries. The accident took place when a suburban train struck four individuals near the Sandhurst railway station around 7 p.m. This incident significantly disrupted train services on the central railway line.

The victims of the accident were promptly transported to J J Hospital for medical attention. Among the injured were:

- Helly Mohmaya (19)
- Kaif Choghale (22)
- Khushbu Mohamaya (45)
- One unidentified person
Earlier on the same day, railway unions staged a protest at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). This demonstration aimed to oppose the filing of an FIR against railway engineers related to a previous accident. That incident, which occurred on June 9, 2025, had resulted in the deaths of four individuals.
Disruption of Train Services
The protest began around 5:50 p.m. and lasted for nearly an hour, causing significant delays. Train operations resumed only after 6:45 p.m., leading to many passengers being stranded at CSMT. The first train that operated post-protest was involved in the accident shortly after.
Central Railway spokesperson Swapnil Nila commented on the accident, stating, “The speed of the train is fast, and stopping immediately in the dark is not feasible. We continually urge people not to walk on the tracks.” When questioned about the potential connection between the protest and the accident, he mentioned that further investigation would be necessary to draw any conclusions.
