Brock Purdy Nears Full Recovery Despite Limited Participation

Brock Purdy, the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, is making progress in his recovery from injury. However, his participation in practice remains limited. As of Thursday, his availability for Week 10 is still uncertain.

Purdy’s Recovery Progress

Head coach Kyle Shanahan commented on Purdy’s condition during an interview. He indicated that the team is becoming more aggressive in Purdy’s rehabilitation efforts. “He’s definitely getting better each week, heading in the right direction,” Shanahan noted.

Injury Background

Purdy initially injured his toe in Week 1 but aggravated it in Week 4. This setback has kept him off the field since then. Shanahan expressed optimism about Purdy’s return, stating, “I’m pretty confident you’ll see him this year.”

Current Team Status

While Purdy continues to recover, Mac Jones will remain the starting quarterback. The team also updated their practice report, adding three new players’ statuses.

  • Defensive tackle Alfred Collins – Non-participant (hip injury)
  • Defensive tackle Kalia Davis – Limited participation (ankle injury)
  • Defensive end Keion White – Limited participation (groin injury)

Additionally, linebacker Dee Winters was downgraded to non-participant due to a knee injury. Other players, including wide receiver Ricky Pearsall and defensive end Bryce Huff, remained limited in their practices.

As the 49ers prepare for their upcoming games, the team continues to monitor Purdy’s condition closely. His eventual return could provide a significant boost to their season.
