KLF Operative Arrested for NRI’s Murder

Amritsar police have made significant progress in the investigation of the murder of NRI Malkit Singh by arresting two suspects. The arrests occurred at Raja Sansi, where law enforcement seized five high-caliber weapons during the operation.

The Arrests and Suspects Involved

Amritsar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for rural areas, Maninder Singh, identified the suspects as:

  • Bikramjit Singh, also known as Bikram, from Dhariwal village
  • Karanbir Singh from Saisra Kalan village

Both suspects are alleged to have links with the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), a terrorist organization. Bikram has a prior criminal record, facing charges related to attempted murder and violations of the Explosives and Arms Acts.

Weapons Seized

During the arrests, police recovered:

  • Two foreign-made .45 caliber pistols
  • One .30 caliber pistol
  • One .32 caliber pistol
  • One revolver
  • Twenty bullets

Murder of Malkit Singh

Malkit Singh, who had been residing in Italy, was tragically murdered on the evening of November 1. Authorities report that while he was sowing wheat with his father in Dhariwal village, he was shot by two unidentified assailants.

He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. Initial investigations suggest the suspects acted under the influence of foreign handlers, with Bikram acquiring weapons from overseas to orchestrate violent acts in Punjab.

Further Investigation

Based on information provided by Bikramjit Singh, police were able to locate and arrest Karanbir Singh at a location near Kukranwala. The investigation continues as officers delve deeper into the network surrounding these suspects.
