His cause of death has been officially confirmed as blunt trauma to the head resulting from a fall, according to the Morris County Medical Examiner. Frehley was 74 years old at the time of his death.

A private memorial service took place for Ace Frehley on October 21, 2023, at the Sinatra Memorial Home in Yonkers, New York. He was buried the following day at Woodlawn Cemetery, close to where he grew up and where his parents are laid to rest.
The services were attended by around 75 guests, including notable KISS members Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss. Family, friends, and fellow musicians came together to honor Frehley’s remarkable life and career.
