Elizabeth Line Suspended in Central London This Weekend – No Heathrow Service
Major disruptions are expected on the Elizabeth Line this weekend, with significant changes to train services. Essential engineering work will result in the complete closure of the core tunnel section from Paddington to Abbey Wood and Stratford on Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Impact on Elizabeth Line Services
The disruptions will affect both East and West London services:
East London Services
- Normal services will operate between Shenfield and Liverpool Street.
- Trains will terminate at the surface platforms (16 & 17).
- Whitechapel station will be skipped during this period.
West London Services
- A reduced service will run from Paddington to Reading.
- Trains will also operate to/from Paddington’s surface platforms (11 & 12).
- Services will include:
- Two trains per hour at Acton Main Line and Hanwell.
- Four trains per hour at West Ealing.
- Six trains per hour at Ealing Broadway, Southall, and Hayes & Harlington.
No Heathrow Airport Service
Passengers will find that there will be no Elizabeth Line services to or from Heathrow Airport during this time. The Heathrow Express will also not be in operation. Travelers are advised to use the Piccadilly Line, which will maintain normal service between Heathrow and central London.
This situation mirrors the original TfL Rail service prior to the launch of the Elizabeth Line. For train enthusiasts, this weekend offers a unique opportunity to see Elizabeth Line trains at Paddington and Liverpool Street mainline platforms without the need to take early or late services.
