South Dakota State University (SDSU) senior forward Brooklyn Meyer has been recognized with the first Summit League Women’s Basketball Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week award for the 2025-26 season. This accolade marks the seventh weekly award of Meyer’s impressive career.

Outstanding Performance in Season Opener

Meyer played a pivotal role in leading the Jackrabbits to a perfect 2-0 start.

In their first game, she showcased one of her best performances, scoring 33 points on 14-of-20 shooting. This effort helped SDSU secure a 78-62 victory over Creighton, a team that was receiving votes in national polls at the time. Meyer was instrumental in the second quarter, scoring 13 of SDSU’s 20 points, and she added 10 points in the fourth quarter. Her performance on both ends of the court also contributed to the Jackrabbits winning the rebounding battle, 39-37, while she recorded five blocks.

Double-Double Success

Meyer continued her strong form in the home opener against Rice, where she achieved a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, along with four blocks. After a slow start, scoring only five points in the first half, she exploded for 17 points in the second half, shooting at an impressive 7-of-12 rate.

Impressive Statistics

  • 27.5 points per game: Meyer led the Summit League in scoring during the opening week.
  • 9.5 rebounds per game: She ranked fourth in the league for rebounds.
  • 4.5 blocks per game: Meyer again topped the league in blocks.

Her early season performance sets a high standard as the Jackrabbits continue their campaign. Other nominated players for the weekly award included Coryn Watts from Denver and Emani Bennett from Kansas City, among others.
