Vegas Golden Knights Launch NHL Learn to Play in Big Sky, Montana
The Vegas Golden Knights have announced an exciting initiative to promote youth hockey in Big Sky, Montana. Starting January 4, 2026, the NHL Learn to Play program will run for five weeks at the Marty Pavelich Ice Rink, engaging young players in skill development.
Details of the NHL Learn to Play Program
This program is tailored for boys and girls aged 4 to 10. It aims to provide a fun environment for budding players to enhance their hockey skills.
- Program Duration: January 4 – February 1, 2026
- Schedule: Sundays, 10-11 a.m. MT
- Equipment: Each participant will receive a complete set of new hockey gear
- Requirements: Basic skating competency is necessary to enroll
Free Youth Hockey Clinic
On the same day, January 4, a free VGK Youth Hockey Clinic will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. MT. This session is open to boys and girls aged 9 to 13. Basic skating skills are also needed for this event.
Special Guests and Activities
Members of the Golden Knights organization will be present, including Sheri Hudspeth, Director of Youth Hockey Programs, former player Deryk Engelland, and the team mascot, Chance. Engelland will hold a meet-and-greet session for photos and autographs prior to the Learn to Play session, from 9-10 a.m. MT.
