Santa Claus Parades to Enliven Hamilton and Niagara Falls Saturday
Santa Claus is making his way back to the festive cities of Hamilton and Niagara Falls this Saturday, marking the start of the Santa Claus Parade season. This event promises to bring joy and excitement to local communities, with additional parades planned throughout the month in several nearby towns.
Santa Claus Parade in Hamilton
This year, the Hamilton Santa Claus Parade will take place in the Mountain area for the second consecutive year. The route was shifted from its original path due to construction, but the high turnout last year encouraged organizers to maintain the current route.
The parade will commence at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Upper Sherman and Acadia Drive. From there, it will travel north on Upper Sherman, then turn west on Limeridge Road, concluding at Lime Ridge Mall. At the mall’s south parking lot, Santa will participate in the tree lighting ceremony along with various parade-related activities. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and financial donations for Mission Services, which will collect contributions at the parade’s start.
Niagara Falls Santa Claus Parade
Following the Hamilton festivities, the Niagara Falls Santa Claus Parade is set to begin at 4 p.m. The parade will kick off at Victoria Avenue and Armoury Street, traveling northbound on Victoria to Valley Way. It will continue onto Queen Street and finally end at Centennial Square, located in front of city hall.
Project SHARE will be collecting donations along the parade route, with an additional donation bin available at Centennial Square for those who wish to contribute after the parade. Children can also submit their letters to Santa during the event. A post-parade celebration follows, featuring food trucks, tree lighting, live entertainment, and photo opportunities.
Additional Parades This Month
- Fort Erie: November 22 at 5 p.m. on Jarvis Street.
- Brantford: November 30 at 6 p.m. on Dalhousie Street, starting at Stanley Street and ending at Harmony Square.
- Burlington: December 7 at 2 p.m. The route starts at Central Park, moving down New Street to James Street, and concluding at Brant Street and Blairholme Avenue.
These parades are a vibrant way to welcome the holiday season and support local charitable efforts in the community.
