Prepare Your Yuletide Float for West Nipissing’s Parade of Lights
West Nipissing is gearing up for its exciting Parade of Lights, featuring an early visit from Santa Claus. Scheduled for Friday, December 5, this annual parade is a cherished community event.
Participate in the Parade of Lights
The municipality invites everyone to get involved in the festivities. Registration is currently open for those who wish to showcase a float. Additionally, businesses and organizations can participate by walking the parade route or displaying a holiday-themed vehicle.
Parade Route Details
This year’s parade will kick off on John Street, taking a right onto Michaud Street, then a left onto Ethel Street. It will continue down King Street and finish on Queen Street, ending at the West Nipissing Community & Recreation Centre arena.
Event Timing and Location
- Meeting Location: West Nipissing Community & Recreation Centre at 219 O’Hara Street, Sturgeon Falls.
- Arrival Time: All participants should arrive by 5:30 p.m.
- Parade Start Time: 6:30 p.m. sharp.
Insurance and Regulations
All parade participants are required to have a minimum of $2 million in general liability insurance, with The Corporation of the Municipality of West Nipissing named as an additional insured party. Drivers must carry valid licenses, and proof of insurance must be submitted to the municipality at least 10 days before the parade date.
Important Notes for Participants
- Do not dress as Santa, as the real Santa will be attending as the guest of honour.
