Concord Budget Airline Expands with New Route and Restored Service

Avelo Airlines is expanding its offerings at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport by introducing nonstop flights to Chicago and reinstating service to Nashville. This development marks a significant milestone for the budget carrier as it continues to enhance air travel options in the region.

New Routes to Chicago and Nashville

The airline’s new service to O’Hare International Airport in Chicago and Nashville International Airport will commence on February 12, 2026. Avelo will operate four flights per week, scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

  • Start Date: February 12, 2026
  • Frequency: 4 flights per week
  • Available Days: Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays
  • One-way Ticket Prices: Starting at $35

Tickets for these routes can be purchased at AveloAir.com. Avelo Airlines founder and CEO Andrew Levy emphasized the importance of these new offerings by stating that they provide an affordable way to travel to both the “Windy City” and “Music City.”

Avelo Airlines in Concord

Avelo Airlines first launched service in Concord in May 2024 with routes initially directed to New Haven, Connecticut. The carrier aims to offer a seamless travel experience that avoids the congestion often found at larger airports like Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The airline established its Concord base in March 2024, operating with one Boeing Next-Generation 737, and recently added a second aircraft to better accommodate passenger demand.

Previously, Avelo discontinued its Nashville route due to underperformance, including low ticket sales. However, the reinstated service is poised to operate with increased frequency, providing travelers more options than the former two flights per week. Avelo’s spokesperson Courtney Goff mentioned that a second aircraft at their Concord base enables them to enhance and develop new routes.

Expanding Connection Options

The addition of Chicago and Nashville routes brings the total number of destinations offered at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport to ten. Other destinations include:

  • Albany, New York
  • Boston / Manchester, New Hampshire
  • Lakeland / Orlando, Florida
  • New Haven, Connecticut
  • New York / Long Island, New York
  • Rochester, New York
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico
  • West Palm Beach, Florida

About Concord-Padgett Regional Airport

Concord-Padgett Regional Airport, owned by the city, opened in 1994 and was renamed in 2018 in honor of former mayor Scott Padgett. The airport serves as an important hub for several airlines, including Avelo, Allegiant Air, and Sun Country Airlines. This facility also caters to NASCAR race teams due to its proximity to the Charlotte Motor Speedway, offering a convenient alternative to the busy Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
