The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government confirmed that volunteers from the State Emergency Service, along with school staff, have been actively inspecting school buildings. Their efforts involve “mapping all coloured sand” to identify and assess affected areas.

The products under scrutiny include the Active Sandtub 14 piece Sand Castle Building Set and colored variants known as Blue, Green, and Pink Magic Sand. Officials noted that up to 23 schools may remain operational, as they either possess minimal amounts or none of the sand in question.
