Isuzu Trooper: A Memorable 30th Birthday Gift for Karl-Anthony Towns

Karl-Anthony Towns, the New York Knicks center, celebrated a memorable milestone as he turned 30 last Saturday. His girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, gifted him an exceptional surprise that held deep sentimental value.

Isuzu Trooper: A Heartfelt Tribute

Woods presented Towns with a black 1990s Isuzu Trooper, the same model his late mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, drove during his childhood. This vehicle was more than just a car; it symbolized cherished memories of his mother.

Special Memories Revived

Woods shared a touching moment from a summer conversation with Towns. When asked which car he would choose for a day, he expressed his love for his mother’s old car. “I wouldn’t pick anything crazy. I just really loved my mom’s car,” he said. Determined to make his dream a reality, Woods embarked on an impressive quest to find and restore the Isuzu Trooper.

Efforts to Make It Happen

Woods went to great lengths to acquire the vehicle, shipping it across the country and ensuring it was ready in time for Towns’ birthday. The Isuzu Trooper ceased production in 2002, replaced by the Isuzu Ascender and Axiom. Towns was elated with the gift, declaring, “This is the best thing ever” as he drove the car.

A Heartfelt Loss

This special gift also serves as a poignant reminder of Towns’ mother, who passed away in April 2020 due to complications from coronavirus at the age of 58. Towns and Woods have been together since May 2020 and officially announced their relationship on social media in September 2020.

Current Performance

As a notable player in the NBA, Towns is currently averaging 21.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. The thoughtful gift from Woods is a beautiful tribute that not only highlights their relationship but also honors the memory of his beloved mother.
