Greenwich Cares: Support for Care Experienced Students
The University of Greenwich welcomes around 100 new care experienced students annually. In 2024/25, they expect similar numbers. This student demographic often encounters hurdles, feeling isolated as they pursue higher education.
Monika Varga, a Care Leaver Adviser, is part of the Greenwich Cares team dedicated to making a difference. The team’s objective is to help students realize their potential and transition smoothly into higher education.

- Only 14% of care experienced students pursue higher education.
- Dropout rates for care leavers are three times higher than their peers.
