Rams Place Quentin Lake, Rob Havenstein, Tyler Higbee on Injured Reserve
In a significant shakeup for the Los Angeles Rams, several key players have been placed on injured reserve. Right tackle Rob Havenstein, tight end Tyler Higbee, and safety Quentin Lake will all be sidelined for at least four games.
Injury Details and Impact
Head coach Sean McVay expressed hope that these athletes could return before the season concludes. However, their absence will undoubtedly impact the team’s performance on the field.
Rob Havenstein’s Injury
Havenstein has been dealing with knee and ankle injuries. Despite these issues, he managed to play every snap during the team’s recent victory over the Seattle Seahawks. This season has been challenging for him; he has only participated in seven games due to ongoing injuries.
Tyler Higbee’s Status
Higbee suffered an ankle injury during the game against the Seahawks, completing only 20 of 51 offensive snaps. In the current season, he has recorded 20 receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns over nine games.
Quentin Lake’s Condition
Lake faced a more serious situation, undergoing surgery on a dislocated elbow. He only played 32 of 84 snaps in the Seattle game prior to his injury. Over ten starts this season, Lake achieved a career-best with ten passes defended, 61 tackles, and additional noteworthy statistics, including a sack, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
Roster Adjustments
To address these injuries, the Rams made several roster changes. They claimed safety Chris Smith II off waivers from the Raiders and elevated kicker Harrison Mevis from the practice squad to the active roster. Additionally, cornerback Alex Johnson has been signed to the practice squad as a further adjustment.
