Controversies and Challenges
This year’s Miss Universe event has been overshadowed by scandal. During a live-streamed meeting, Thailand’s director publicly criticized Bosch for her promotional efforts, labeling her a “dumbhead.” This prompted a walkout from fellow contestants in solidarity. The incident drew significant backlash, including condemnation from Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum.
The Miss Universe Organization also faced scrutiny after two judges resigned, with one alleging the competition was rigged. Omar Harfouch claimed a secret panel had pre-selected contestants prior to the voting process, which the organization has denied.
International Representation
Nadeen Ayoub made history as the first Palestinian representative, reaching the semifinalist stage of the competition. Bosch used her platform to encourage authenticity, stating, “Believe in the power of your authenticity. Your dreams matter.”
