Afterward, the Chiefs will host the Houston Texans and the Los Angeles Chargers at GEHA Field in Arrowhead Stadium. They will proceed to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans before wrapping up their regular season with home games against the Denver Broncos and a road matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Chiefs’ Playoff Picture

As the Chiefs continue their season, their current playoff prospects are promising. With a 57% chance of making the playoffs, this figure remains unchanged from the previous week. Their probability of winning the AFC West has increased to 12%, up from 10% last week. Additionally, they have a 5% chance of winning Super Bowl LX, a slight increase from 4% a week ago. However, they face an uphill battle to secure the coveted No. 1 seed.

Current Standings

If the season ended today, the Chiefs would find themselves in the 10th position in the AFC playoffs, just outside the qualification zone. Only seven teams make it to the playoffs. Recently, only two of the eight teams ranked above Kansas City, namely the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers, faced defeats. Unfortunately, the Bills’ loss to the Texans allowed Houston to surpass Kansas City in the playoff race.

Path to the Playoffs

The Chiefs have a clear route to the postseason. Winning all remaining six games guarantees their playoff berth. A loss to either the Cowboys, Raiders, or Titans would affect their chances negligibly, with only a 1% chance of missing the playoffs. However, losing a game to any other AFC team could diminish their chances to 6%. Two losses could significantly reduce their odds, dropping them below 50% for most scenarios.

Division Title Possibilities

While the Chiefs aim for the playoffs, their chances of securing the AFC West title have become less predictable. Winning all remaining games increases their likelihood of capturing a 10th consecutive division title to 60%. However, they will need the Chargers to lose not only their matchup against the Chiefs but also to drop one more game among their remaining fixtures. The same applies to the Broncos, who must lose to Kansas City and potentially against other competitors.

First-Round Bye Prospects

Currently, the path to a first-round bye is clouded. Even with a perfect end to the season, the Chiefs have only a 5% likelihood of securing the No. 1 seed. This figure has improved slightly since last week, but remains a long shot. The outcome of upcoming games could shift their playoff possibilities dramatically. Yet, the team’s margin for error remains thin.
