Steph Curry Tributes Michael Jordan with Shoes Ahead of Warriors vs. Jazz

Stephen Curry, the celebrated star of the Golden State Warriors, is currently enjoying newfound freedom as a shoe free agent. This development allows him to wear a selection of sneakers that pay tribute to NBA icons.

Honoring Michael Jordan

On Monday, Curry recognized the legendary Michael Jordan by wearing the “Flu Game” Air Jordan 12 in the tunnel. For warmups, he chose the “Last Shot” Air Jordan 14. These iconic shoes were famously worn by Jordan during his competition against the Utah Jazz, the same team the Warriors were set to face that night.

End of an Era with Under Armour

Curry signed with Under Armour back in 2013. However, earlier this month, both parties announced their intention to part ways, marking a significant moment in Curry’s career. As part of this split, he retains full ownership of his signature “Splash” logo.

The final model from Under Armour, the Curry 13, will launch in February. Additional colorways will be produced until October 2026, ensuring fans have access to Curry’s innovative designs as his partnership transitions.

Embracing Other Shoe Brands

As Curry navigates this new chapter, he is relishing the opportunity to wear shoes from various brands. Recently, he honored basketball legends during a matchup against Orlando by donning Shaquille O’Neal’s Reebok shoes and Penny Hardaway’s Air Penny 2. He also showcased Dwyane Wade’s Way of Wade 1 before playing against the Miami Heat.

Following the game against the Jazz, the Warriors will take on the Houston Rockets. It remains to be seen if Curry will arrive in Kevin Durant’s signature sneakers.

Focus on the Championship

While the speculation regarding his future shoe deal continues, Curry’s primary focus is winning another championship. The 37-year-old remains a force on the court, averaging 28.6 points per game this season.

The Warriors have experienced challenges, starting the season with a 9-9 record. They are eager to find their rhythm as they compete for a title amidst the ever-evolving basketball landscape.
