South East Water Apologizes for Tunbridge Wells Supply Disruptions

South East Water has issued an apology for disruptions in water supply affecting residents in Tunbridge Wells. Customers have reported experiencing either no water supply or low pressure due to issues at the Pembury Water Treatment Works.

Details of the Water Supply Issues

Matthew Dean, head of operations control, addressed the situation during a recent announcement. He explained that the water treatment process at the Pembury facility failed to operate correctly, leading to a shutdown. This resulted in low levels in the drinking water storage tanks servicing the Tunbridge Wells area.

Emergency Responses and Support

In response to the emergency, South East Water has deployed tankers to assist in replenishing the water storage tanks. Additionally, bottled water deliveries are being provided to vulnerable customers registered in the Priority Services Register.

  • Bottled water station established at Sovereign Way East Car Park in Tonbridge.
  • Station operational until 22:00, with plans for additional locations tomorrow morning.

Efforts are underway to restore the treatment works as quickly as possible. South East Water is committed to minimizing the impact on local residents and ensuring a reliable water supply.
