Lane Kiffin Aims to Secure Two Four-Star Receivers for LSU
Lane Kiffin, the new head coach at LSU, is making waves in the recruiting scene. He aims to secure two highly-rated four-star wide receivers for the Tigers. Both recruits recently decommitted from their previous schools, showing significant interest in joining LSU.
Key Recruits
- Brayden Allen
- From Lafayette Christian Academy, Lafayette, Louisiana
- Previously committed to Oklahoma but decommitted on Sunday
- Ranked as the No. 420 player in the 2026 class by 247Sports Composite
- Corey Barber
- From Clay-Chalkville High, Pinson, Alabama
- Decommitted from Ole Miss on the same day as Allen
- Ranked No. 169 in the 2026 class by the 247Sports Composite
Relationship with Coaches
Barber cited his bond with George McDonald, the former Ole Miss wide receivers coach and now part of Kiffin’s staff, as a key factor in his decision. Barber stated, “I have been talking with Coach McDonald today. He is a great guy and we have a great relationship. LSU is now a school I have to consider.”
Recruiting Strategy
Kiffin recently began his tenure in Baton Rouge but has quickly established his recruiting strategy. The commitment of both Allen and Barber could greatly enhance LSU’s roster, which is currently ranked No. 12 nationally according to 247Sports.
If successful, Allen and Barber will be added as the fourth and fifth wide receivers in Kiffin’s recruiting class. The early signing period for college football is set to take place from December 3 to December 5. During this period, many recruits, including LSU’s prospects, are expected to formalize their commitments.
As Kiffin intensifies his recruitment efforts, all eyes will be on these two four-star receivers as they consider their next steps in their college careers.
