A journalist from the Times-Picayune observed Border Patrol agents apprehending two men at a landscaping firm’s truck. While one individual was released, the other was detained. An unnamed witness noted being part of a group seeking work outside the Lowe’s on Elysian Fields when about five Border Patrol vehicles arrived.
This witness reported that approximately 25 agents questioned the group about their legal status, leading to several individuals fleeing the scene. It is estimated that Border Patrol detained around two dozen people in a brief operation lasting roughly 25 minutes.
