LJ Martin earned the Offensive Player of the Year title after an impressive season. He ranks 12th nationally with 1,229 rushing yards, aiming to become one of the few Cougars to finish in the top 10 in the last three decades.
Jacob Rodriguez, the first player from Texas Tech to claim the Defensive Player of the Year award, impressed with five forced fumbles and four interceptions this season. His performance marks a significant achievement, as he is the first in 20 years to reach such stats.
Devon Dampier’s success as Offensive Newcomer of the Year followed his preseason selection. He played a crucial role in leading Utah to a 10-win season.
On the defensive front, David Bailey excelled as both the Defensive Newcomer and Defensive Lineman of the Year. With 12.5 sacks leading the nation, he holds a significant spot in Texas Tech history.
