Mendoza’s Major Achievement
Mendoza recently led Indiana to its first Big Ten championship in 58 years. He achieved this feat two days before being named a Heisman finalist. This victory marked Indiana’s first win over the Buckeyes in 30 attempts dating back to 1988.
In his performance, Mendoza threw for 222 yards and secured the game with a third-quarter touchdown. His efforts earned him the title of game MVP. “We were never supposed to be in this position,” Mendoza remarked. As the -1200 favorite to win the Heisman, he aims to make history, as Indiana has never had a Heisman winner.
Pavia’s Historic Season
Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia also made headlines this season. He led the Commodores to their first-ever 10-win season. Pavia set school records with 3,192 passing yards and 27 touchdowns.
Love’s Impressive Performance
Jeremiyah Love from Notre Dame made significant contributions, scoring 21 all-purpose touchdowns this season. This achievement allowed him to surpass Jerome Bettis as the all-time leader in Notre Dame history. Love concluded the regular season with 1,372 rushing yards, ranking him fourth nationally.
Sayin’s First Season Highlights
Ohio State’s Julian Sayin had an impressive debut season. He finished with a national ranking of second in QBR at 89.6 and achieved the highest completion rate in FBS history, at 78.4%. Sayin helped secure a victory for Ohio State over Michigan, breaking a four-game losing streak.
