New Pokémon Go Feature Arrives, Fulfilling Longtime Player Requests
A long-awaited feature in Pokémon Go is making its debut, much to the excitement of dedicated players. Remote trading is being introduced as part of a new friendship update, which also includes the Forever Friends tier.
New Trading Feature Overview
Previously, trading Pokémon in Pokémon Go required players to be in close proximity. The introduction of the Forever Friends tier opens up trading possibilities worldwide. This change will help players fill gaps in their Pokédex, especially for those seeking Pokémon like Hawlucha and Oricorio (Pa’u Style).
How Remote Trading Works
To initiate remote trades, players must first achieve Forever Friend status, which is above the Best Friend tier. The process for remote trading is straightforward:
- Players use a special tag to mark Pokémon available for trade with a Forever Friend.
- Each player selects up to three tagged Pokémon they would like to receive.
- Wish lists are exchanged, and each trainer selects one Pokémon to offer.
- Final offerings can be reviewed and either confirmed or canceled by both players.
Remote trades can be repeated multiple times with the same Forever Friend once enough Friendship Points are earned.
Earning Friendship Points
Friendship Points are crucial for enhancing trading capabilities. Players can earn points by:
- Battling against friends
- Trading with friends
- Sending gifts to friends
A maximum of one Friendship Point can be earned per person daily. Additional points can be obtained by participating in weekly challenges, where players team up with friends for group activities.
Lucky Friends and Trade Conditions
Lucky Friends can still send and receive lucky Pokémon via remote trades. However, certain Pokémon are excluded from remote trading:
- Pokémon caught in the last 30 days
- Previously traded Pokémon
- Shadow Pokémon
- Mythical Pokémon
- Pokémon defending Gyms or Power Spots
- Pokémon set as your buddy
- Actively Mega-Evolved Pokémon
- Fused Pokémon
- Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta
- Pokémon placed at Pokémon Playgrounds
Expanded Friend Limit
In an additional boost for players, the maximum number of friends in Pokémon Go will increase from 450 to 650. This change will roll out over the coming weeks in increments of 50. Players should prepare for an influx of trade requests as they assess their collectibles.
With these exciting updates, Pokémon Go continues to evolve, meeting the requests of its dedicated player base.
