Netflix Partners with iHeartMedia for Video Podcasts Expansion

Netflix is expanding its offerings with the introduction of video podcasts, thanks to a new partnership with iHeartMedia. This collaboration will bring video episodes from over 15 iHeartPodcasts to the streaming platform.

Details of the iHeartMedia Partnership

The deal includes popular shows such as:

  • The Breakfast Club
  • My Favorite Murder
  • Dear Chelsea
  • Bobby Bones Presents: The Bobbycast
  • And more.

This expansion is set to launch in early 2026 in the U.S. In addition to new episodes, the agreement provides access to select episodes from the existing library.

Context and Competitors

This move follows another significant partnership Netflix announced in October 2023 with Spotify. This earlier collaboration also focuses on video podcasts, featuring shows from Spotify Studios and The Ringer, including renowned titles like The Bill Simmons Podcast and The Rewatchables.

Netflix is positioning itself as a key player in the video podcast arena, aiming to rival YouTube, currently the most popular platform for video content. As part of the new agreements, these video episodes will no longer be available on YouTube, ensuring exclusivity on Netflix.

Strategic Insights

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos had initially suggested the idea of integrating video podcasts back in April 2025. He acknowledged the growing popularity of podcasts and actively engaged with agents to attract more podcasters this fall.

According to Bob Pittman, CEO of iHeartMedia, audio podcasting has seen rapid growth over the past two decades. This new category of video podcasts allows fans to engage with their favorite personalities in a fresh format. It also aims to attract new audiences, presenting these shows to viewers who may discover them for the first time.

Quotes from Leadership

“This partnership perfectly complements our strong audio foundation,” stated Pittman. “Working with Netflix provides an exciting opportunity for fans to connect with their favorite personalities.”

Lauren Smith, Netflix’s vice president of content licensing and programming strategy, expressed enthusiasm for the diverse range of content offered through this partnership, expecting to deliver a highly entertaining experience to viewers.
