PSG Ordered to Pay Over €60 Million to Kylian Mbappé in Dispute

The ongoing legal battle between Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has seen a significant development. On December 16, 2025, the Paris labor court ruled that PSG must pay Mbappé €60.9 million in unpaid wages and bonuses following the end of his contract in 2024. The ruling comes with provisional execution, meaning the payment must occur without delay.

Kylian Mbappé’s Dispute with PSG

This legal dispute centers around alleged unpaid salaries and bonuses amounting to €55 million. Mbappé initiated the case after exhausting his options through sports regulatory bodies. On November 17, during the hearing, his legal team demanded a total of €263 million from PSG. This sum included claims related to the reclassification of his contract from a fixed-term (CDD) to an indefinite-term (CDI) contract, wrongful termination, and other grievances.

PSG’s Counterclaims

In response, PSG sought €440 million from the player. The club argued that there had been an informal agreement in the summer of 2023 allowing Mbappé to leave as a free agent, thereby emphasizing their understanding of his departure should not negatively impact their finances.

  • €180 million for violation of this informal agreement
  • €180 million for not facilitating a transfer
  • €60 million for bad faith in executing the agreement
  • €20 million for damage to the club’s image

PSG also noted that a court had recently dismissed Mbappé’s appeal against a provisional seizure of €55 million from the club’s accounts. Relations between Mbappé and PSG have been strained since the beginning of the 2023-2024 season, particularly when he was sidelined due to his unwillingness to extend his contract.

Current Status

The labor court’s ruling emphasizes the complexity of the case and the stakes involved for both parties. As this dispute continues, it remains a central topic in the football world, capturing the attention of fans and analysts alike.
