Lamar Jackson Skips Practice Due to Illness
Lamar Jackson’s practice struggles continue as he misses another session due to illness. This marks the sixth consecutive week without a full practice for the quarterback. Jackson has faced multiple injuries, including issues with his knee, ankle, and toe, following an earlier hamstring injury.
Lamar Jackson’s Illness and Practice Update
On Wednesday, Jackson was absent from the practice field as he dealt with symptoms resembling the flu. Ravens’ head coach John Harbaugh confirmed the absence, stating, “Lamar had an illness. He was kept home with a ‘flu’ [like] deal. The [doctor] kept him away from the guys.”
Injuries Affecting the Ravens’ Roster
Jackson is not the only Raven facing challenges this week. Several other players were also sidelined during Wednesday’s practice:
- Chidobe Awuzie (foot)
- Ronnie Stanley (knee/ankle)
- Roquan Smith (knee)
- Kyle Van Noy (quad)
Despite these injuries, Harbaugh expressed optimism about Smith and Stanley returning to practice on Thursday, which could bolster the team’s preparations for their upcoming game.
Rookie Player Updates
In a positive turn, rookie linebacker Jay Higgins IV was limited during Wednesday’s session as he enters a 21-day period to return to the 53-man roster. Additionally, safety Keondre Jackson was also limited due to an ankle issue.
On a brighter note, wide receiver Rashod Bateman fully participated in practice after missing the previous game due to an ankle injury. Harbaugh noted that Bateman aggravated the injury last week during practice.
Upcoming Game Against the Patriots
The Baltimore Ravens prepare for a crucial Week 16 matchup against the New England Patriots. Team health and player availability will play important roles in their preparation as they work towards securing a vital victory.
