Judge Dismisses Orinda Gang-Rape Charges Against Diddy and Entourage
A recent legal development has surfaced regarding the gang-rape allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs and his entourage. A federal judge in San Francisco dismissed the civil lawsuit filed by Ashley Parham, concluding the case that claimed events took place in Orinda seven years ago.
Details of the Rape Allegations
Ashley Parham accused Diddy and others of gang-raping her in Orinda in 2018. Her allegations included disturbing details, such as an incident involving a TV remote. She claimed this was an act of retaliation for her comments about Combs’ past connection to the Tupac Shakur murder case.
Legal Proceedings
The dismissal of the case came from U.S. District Judge Rita Lin. Parham initially filed her lawsuit in October 2024, amending it in March to include additional defendants like NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. and comedian Drew Desbordes, known as Druski. Both Beckham and Desbordes argued that they were not present during the alleged incident.
Reasons for Dismissal
- Insufficient service: Parham failed to serve the defendants within the required 90 days after filing.
- Representation issues: Her attorneys withdrew from the case without Parham securing new legal counsel.
Despite the dismissal, the judge acknowledged that some claims may have merit, especially concerning Beckham. Lin denied his team’s request for sanctions against Parham, suggesting that her initial allegations were somewhat credible.
Future Legal Options
Martin H., a victim advocate representing Parham, expressed relief over the case’s dismissal without prejudice. This decision allows Parham the option to refile her claims in the future if circumstances change. H. mentioned that additional police reports related to the case are pending within ongoing law enforcement investigations.
Current Situation of Sean Combs
In a separate legal matter, Combs was sentenced on October 3 to four years and two months in prison for charges related to prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges, such as racketeering and sex trafficking. Combs is currently incarcerated in a federal prison in New Jersey and plans to appeal his conviction and sentence.
