Texas A&M’s Jamie Morrison Earns College Volleyball Coach of the Year
Jamie Morrison, the head coach of Texas A&M’s volleyball program, has been named the AVCA Coach of the Year for 2023. This recognition follows an impressive season in which he guided the Aggies to a remarkable 27-4 overall record. Under Morrison’s leadership, Texas A&M secured a second-place finish in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) with a standout 14-1 conference record.
Coaching Excellence and Achievements
In Morrison’s third season with the Aggies, he has played a pivotal role in developing a championship-contending team. Four Texas A&M players were honored as AVCA All-Americans this season: Ifenna Cos-Okpalla, Logan Lednicky, Maddie Waak, and Kyndal Stowers. Historic NCAA Volleyball Final Four Appearance
On December 18, Texas A&M will make its inaugural appearance in the NCAA volleyball Final Four during Morrison’s tenure and in the program’s history. The road to this milestone has been challenging but rewarding. The Aggies triumphed over several top-ranked teams:
- Defeated No. 6 TCU in the second round
- Achieved a reverse sweep against No. 2 Louisville in the Sweet 16

Before taking the helm at Texas A&M in 2022, Morrison served as the head coach for Team USA’s U19 volleyball team. He also contributed as the director of sports performance for League One Volleyball.
