The U.S. Department of Justice has shared significant outcomes from Operation Relentless Justice, targeting child sex predators nationwide. Over the course of just two weeks, law enforcement located 205 child victims and arrested 293 offenders related to child sexual abuse.

- A police officer from Raleigh, NC, for distributing child sexual abuse material to an undercover agent.
- A Guatemalan national arrested in Miami for enticing a minor; he had a history of previous arrests.
Addressing Sextortion Cases
Operation Relentless Justice also highlighted concerning trends in sextortion, with arrests tied to individuals targeting children online. This included a Virginia man who persuaded a 14-year-old to produce child sexual abuse material, which led to the victim’s suicide attempt following distressing manipulations.
Previous Operations and Ongoing Efforts
This operation followed two earlier successful initiatives:
- Operation Restore Justice: Rescued 115 children, arrested 205 offenders.
- Operation Enduring Justice: Rescued 133 children, arrested 234 offenders.
The FBI’s Victim Services Division provided assistance to victims during this operation. Their services included forensic interviews, medical, and mental health referrals, supporting victims in the aftermath of crime.
Project Safe Childhood Initiative
These efforts are part of Project Safe Childhood, launched in May 2006, aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. This initiative marshals local, state, and federal resources to locate and prosecute offenders while rescuing victims.
